My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Italy, have
you been!? It's our first time. We're planning a road-trip through
Emilia-Romagna (plus visiting Florence and Cinque Terre and Milan). Do you have any recommendations!? Life-changing Gellato? A
hotel you enjoyed?
And as promised, here
are some heavenly pasta dinner recipes I've been obsessing over (more than
usual in preparation for this trip). Look at all of the different shapes! *Sigh* Is it dinnertime yet?

My favorite place I went in Tuscany (in college) was Volterra, which is a teensy town with a TON of history. Not only is it incredibly beautiful but it is SUPER old and historical--surrounded by an Etruscan wall that is 2000 years old, home to an ancient Roman amphitheater, and, if I remember correctly, they also had great gelato. I also loved Siena, there is a cathedral there that is one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteOh man, you guys are going to have a blast.
Mmm all of these pasta dishes look absolutely mouthwatering!
ReplyDeleteLife-changing gelato?? I can help you with that ;) Try Gelateria Il Porticciolo in Vernazza, the most charming (in my opinion) village in Cinque Terre. Ahh I'm so jealous, Cinque Terre is just magical in the summertime. Enjoy!!

Hey Christine! I am writing down Gelateria Il Porticciolo RIGHT NOW—we haven't decided where to stop and stay in Cinque Terre yet but Vernazza is at the top of my life (glad to know if gets an endorsement for you)! Thank you for the advice. Love you blog by the way!

I know I'm late to the game, but Il Latini in Florence is a life changing meal! The food was phenomenal, and they sent me home with a bottle of wine (which never hurts)...plus I've had Italian friends recommend it which lends to the credibility!
