Hunting For A Modern Cookie Jar...

/ Monday, August 6, 2012

Welcome back from the weekend! We went on a little trip to visit friends in Pennsylvania (they moved from Brooklyn a few months ago). Their new place has a retro baby blue refrigerator, wine cellar, guest barn and lots of green grass and cozy chairs to relax on—perfect because I finally had the chance to sit down and read Sarah Copeland's gorgeous cookbook.

Sarah and I worked together for a while at the magazine. She's exactly the woman you want to take advice from: graceful, happy, smart and remarkably talented. So even though her book, The Newlywed Cookbook, is intended for freshly committed couples, I think her tips on entertaining, and feeling fulfilled in the kitchen and in love, are helpful to anyone interested.

There's a bit about how she always keeps a cookie jar full of homemade treats for her family. It's such a simple gesture. I'm thinking I might get a cookie jar for our home, too (boyfriend really loves M&M cookies). What are your thoughts? A fresh batch every Monday? I'm way into this idea! But first, which cookie jar do you like best?

Oh! Aida Mollenkamp actually has Sarah's Thousand Layer Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe on here website, here. I suggest giving it a once over—enjoy!
