Before I sign off for the weekend, I'd love to share a few recipes from around the web that I'm dying to try this weekend—it just so happens they're all blush-toned! I've been obsessing over the Angle Food Cake French Toast recipe (above) by How Sweet It Is all week. It's brilliant! Pure genius. This will definitely be our breakfast tomorrow morning, much to my savory-breakfast-loving boyfriend's chagrin...
Also, how beautiful and moody is this Rhubarb-Almond Panna Cotta from Cook Your Dream!? It's still a tad early for rhubarb. I should probably hold off until it pops up in the Brooklyn farmers' markets...who am I kidding, I won't wait that long. There's rhubarb in our grocery store. That's good enough, right?
A big pitcher of Spicy Grapefruit Margaritas with friends Saturday evening? That sounds dreamy! Especially after seeing this recipe on Catherine Sheppard's blog, The Life Styled. They get their heat from a little cayenne simple syrup...
And then, there's this gorgeous crumbly Rhubarb-Pistachio Pavlova from Martha Stewart that I've been drooling over. The base only requires 3 ingredients: egg whites, sugar and vanilla (kind of perfect if we're too cozy and relaxed to shop for supplies). Oh! And, last but certainly my favorite, these Doughnut Strawberry Shortcakes from Culinary Concoctions of Peabody—definitely a bit soon from local berries but I can hardly wait to try this! The photo reminds me of my favorite doughnut EVER: the strawberry doughnut from The Donut Man in Glendora, CA. There's nothing better, trust me!
What are you up to this weekend—anything exciting!? I'd love to know xo Erin
