There's 1 more day until V-Day, lovely friends! Here's one last homemade gift idea before you're really on your own :) I'm not a huge fan of spicy booze but I get it, it's kind of a boy-thing. You can make this Chile-Infused Vodka tonight and your valentine will never know you left their present to the last minute....nicely done, you!
The reason I'm particularly excited about this booze, though, is the
pixelated heart packaging. This was a "little something extra" I added
to the bottle right before we went on air yesterday and I'm just
obsessed! Cut squares of red washi tape and layer on the bottle,
overlapping slightly, to make the heart shape and size that you want.
Start at the bottom tip of the heart with 1 washi tape square, then work
your way up. It's a graphic, masculine twist on a heart decoration,
don't you think?
But back to the booze! If homemade chile vodka sounds like the solution
to your last-minute Valentine's Day problem, here's how you make it...
CHILE-INFUSED VODKA
MAKES: 1 bottle
2 to 5 chiles (depending on how spicy you want it)
1 to 1 1/2 cups vodka
1. Poke holes in the chiles using a pin. (Skip this step if you reslly don't want the booze to be that spicy.)
2. Put the chiles in an airtight container, like the flask I used
(above) from the Container Store. Fill the bottle with
vodka. That's it!

ReplyDeleteHi Erin! I made this along with the mini chocolate truffles for my boyfriend for v-day. They both turned out super cute (not sure how spicy the peppers are that I used, but at least they're red? haha). Love your blog, hope all is well! -Kristin M.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristin!
ReplyDeleteYey! I'm so excited that you made the mini truffles & chile booze, that's fantastic! Even if the peppers you used aren't that spicy, they'll add more & more heat to the vodka the longer it sits. So unless your boyfriend drinks it all tonight I think it'll definitely get there :) Thank you for reading (and loving) the blog——that means so much to me. Happy Valentine's Day!
