Nanny Murphy makes these baby tarts for Christmas. They are super tasty & a fetus could make them. Not many people have actually had pepper jelly. If you find yourself in that category of folks you should absolutely go out and try some. The jelly is spicy but boasts a sweet aftertaste. Personally, I think it would be amazing on a grilled cheese sandwich. If you're brave you can actually make pepper jelly of your own using red bell peppers, pepper flakes, pectin, etc. With these tarts, the punch of the jelly is mellowed out by a dollop of goat cheese. Phyllo cups add the crunch that set these simple appetizers over the edge.
Pepper Jelly Tarts:
1 package of phyllo dough cups
1 log soft goat cheese
1 jar hot pepper jelly
1. Bake the cups according to the instructions on the packaging.
2. Place a teaspoon of goat cheese in each cup.
3. Top each tart with one teaspoon of pepper jelly.
4. Eat as many as you can.
