Edible Craft: Sugar Cookie Necklace On Bakers Twine!

/ Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Morning, all! Last night I baked a bunch of cut-out sugar cookies for work. As I was tidying up, I thought of this silly idea for using up the dough trimmings: Make a sugar cookie necklace! Considering how much fun I had, I bet little kids would totally dig this project. Here's how to do it:

Reroll dough scraps and cut out small shapes with a cookie cutter, then use a straw to stamp out a hole from the center of each. Bake at 400 for about 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your cookie size. (Stamp out the hole again if they creeped closed while baking.) Let cool, then tread onto baking twine!

Admittedly my necklace is a little lame but I'm definitely revising when I have more time (and dough) to make a whole statement necklace. Yes, you heard me: an edible statement necklace—pow!

Hope you all have something equally as exciting to look forward to today :) xoxo thanks for stoping by!
